Today it’s hard to imagine the East Valley without a retirement community. But back in the 1970s, nothing like Friendship Village Tempe existed. Then three Tempe residents started talking … and imagining … and planning a place where residents could keep their sense of adventure and still enjoy the peace of mind of knowing their future was secure. Before long, the three were working with Life Care Services to create a continuing care community. And through their partnership, Friendship Village Tempe became a reality. That was 1980. To this day, Life Care Services, along with a local not-for-profit board of directors, continues to manage Friendship Village.
